Jaden Curtiss
“Art is a way of survival” -Yoko Ono
Based in Glendale, Arizona. I work primarily with acrylic paint, gouache and watercolor. Through my art, I am able to transport myself and the viewer into a world where all senses are turned up just a bit. In this world, plants and animals glow in fluorescent color. The Earth wraps around all of us in a familiar hug. Stories from childhood became real. This world I create with my work is informed primarily by experiences of my childhood, reflections on my queerness, and tidbits drawn from my favorite pop culture moments. I hope you’ll take my hand and follow me into this world.
Jaden Curtiss is a multi disciplinary artist exploring themes of childhood, queer identity and connection to nature. Jaden’s work utilizes bold fluorescent color, patterns inspired by medieval textiles, and doesn’t shy from pop culture references that fill the work with humor. Jadens ethos is a drive for connection with other women and queer people, to create work that makes her community feel seen and loved.
